October 17, 1941 – March 16, 2021
Jack Thompson passed away in Spokane, WA on March 16, 2021. He was born in Chappell, NE to Lloyd and Alice Thompson on October 17, 1941. After he graduated high school he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served on the USS Ranger (CVA-61) for four years and loved it! He and his brothers got special permission from the Navy to serve on the carrier at the same time. While he served, he studied biology, and took wood/metal shop classes and was an Aviation Mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1965.
His employment was quite varied and interesting, and he actually loved doing each job: a master carpenter, contractor, certified to remove hazardous materials, handyman, and performed maintenance for Johnson and Wales Culinary College, until he retired in 2011.
