January 11, 1951 – June 22, 2021

Henry “Hank” Wilson Robinson III, formerly of Gilpin County Public Works, passed away June 22, 2021. Hank was born in Denver, Colorado January 11, 1951 to Henry and Lee (Drinkwine) Robinson.  He served in the military in the early 1970’s before marrying Nancy (Spain) and moving to his family’s property in Gilpin County. Hank and Nancy had two children Henry Wilson Robinson IV (May 5, 1976 – July 31, 1994) and Erin Louise Robinson (Nov 7, 1978 – May 7, 2017). Hank’s children were the most important part of his life and he never fully recovered from the grief of losing them.

Hank had relocated to Walden, Colorado in 2008 after losing a leg to diabetes. He loved to fish! He could talk for hours about the last trip he took, what fish were biting, and what lures he had made. He loved his dogs and, in the end, Happy Dog was his best bud. Hank was famous for his pig roasts. He had a massive roaster and people would come from miles around just to get a taste. Hank was a doodler and many of his “doodles” won 1st prizes at various Gilpin County fairs. He loved his surrogate kids and grandkids. His great-granddaughter, Elemira brought new love to his heart.
