MAINTENANCE WORKER I: Salary Range: $53,395 – $74,752 / Annual (Paid hourly),

DOQ/E. Operates both light and heavy equipment and performs routine, semi-skilled to

skilled work in the maintenance and construction of streets, open space, summer flowers,

parks, storm drainage systems, traffic control, signage, striping, landscaping, snow plowing,

and City trash operations. Incumbents entering the class typically have limited related work

experience and are closely supervised during training in the operations and procedures.

FIREFIGHTER (IV, III, II, I): Salary Range $74,208 – $119,387 / Annual (paid hourly),

DOQ/E. The Firefighter performs general firefighting duties and is required to remain

prepared and ready to respond to all calls for assistance. Studies City Street maps, pre-fire

plans, and other material preparatory to being called on an alarm. Requires a high degree

of independent judgment, initiative, and understanding of Fire Department policies, rules

and regulations, and the organization’s overall goals. Must have an in-depth understanding

of fire behavior and response protocols. Must have the ability to understand complex orders

and concepts and communicate the same. Must have a good understanding of machinery,

preventative vehicle maintenance, and minor vehicle repair. This application process will be

used to establish an eligibility list, which will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months.

Candidates placed on the list may be considered for future openings in the classification

Eagles Teen Program – After School Monday-Thursday 4:15-

7:15 p.m. Eagles is an out-of-school program at the Gilpin County

Community Center. We provide free extracurricular opportuni-

ties and a space to hang out for youth ages 12 and up through high

school graduation. All activities and field trips are planned by our

youth program assistants and youth leadership team with the sup-

port of our adult program coordinator. We’ll be providing transpor-

tation from Gilpin County school and will be running the after-

school program from 4 – 7:15 p.m., Mondays – Thursdays! Daily

program is free after a $25/annual registration fee.

After School Enrichment Camp—Monday-Thursday 4-6

p.m., Ages 5-12, $8/day for residents. Have the kids ride the bus

from school to the Community Center for our licensed childcare. All

day Friday care available 7:30 a.m-6 p.m., $45/day.

Youth Summer Camp 2025 —June 9 through Aug. 12, Mon-

day-Friday: 7:30 a.m. -6 p.m. Ages 4 (if they will be 5 by Oct. 15)

through 12 (6th grade). Field Trips every Wednesday. Please send

your camper with the following items: a cold lunch, two snacks,

athletic shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a swimsuit,

and a towel. Registration is now open. Parents must fill out the child

registration and information packet before enrollment.Summer

Camp daily: $45 Resident & $54 Non-Resident rate, Field Trip

Days: $55 Resident & $64 Non-Resident, $25 Discount for full week

Fit For Life Workout Class — This is a community-focused

workout class for all levels, including strength, resistance and car-

dio. We all come together right where we are and work to encourage

and support each other in our personal wellness journey. The class

will be similar in style to a HIIT or circuit class, with motivating

music, high energy, and plenty of encouragement and fun! June 2 –

June 23, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays: June 4 – June 25, 5 – 6

p.m.; Fridays: June 6 – June 27, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Cost: $50/four

week session or $15/Drop-in.

Lifeguard Training — June 6-8, American Red Cross Certi-

fication, Ages 15+ (for class), ages 16+ (employment), CPR, AED,

First Aid and lifeguarding, Must complete online portion before

in-person class Register at the Community Center or online.

Family Fun Fishing Day! —Come catch a fish and claim a

prize! Sunday June 22, 1-3 p.m. William C. Russel Park and Pond

in Central City. Practice leave no trace. Youth poles provided, fun

prizes, brats and hot dogs! All state wildlife regulations apply.

2025 COED Adult Softball —Monday and Wednesday Nights,

June 2-Aug. 6, Ages 18+, $400 Per Team, nine week season (No

games week of June 30), Saturday and Sunday Aug. 9 and 10:

Double Elimination League Tournament.

2025 Youth COED Baseball — June 2 – Aug. 2, six games –

Saturdays with Clear Creek Metro Rec, Volunteer Couches needed.

T-ball: Ages 5-6 $50 Res / $60 Non; Coach Pitch: Ages 7-8 $65 Res

/ $78 Non; Minors: Ages 9-10-11 $65 Res / $78 Non; Majors: Ages

12-13-14 $65 Res / $78 Non. Practice starts June 2 (days TBD by

coach), June 14 Season Opener, No Games July 5 and 12. All partici-

pants are welcome to join the league at a special Colorado Rockies

game on Saturday, June 21 at 7:10 p.m. The teams will get to parade

Resolution to Declare a Vacancy

Be it resolved that the Board of

Education of the Gilpin County School

District RE-1 accepts the resignation

of Tami Velasquez from the Board of

Education effective May 25, 2025; and

Be it further resolved that, in accordance

with state law, the Board declares a

vacancy in this school director office that

will be filled by appointment by the Board

within 60 days in accordance with the

following procedure:

1.Interested persons are invited to send

a letter to the Board with a statement of

interest and qualifications by 4 pm on
