2019 Gilpin Arts Members Show
By David Josselyn
Tucked away in the upper room of the oldest, continuously used public building in Colorado, usually referred to as Washington Hall, is a spectacular art gallery produced by the Gilpin County Arts Association and lovingly managed by Michele Roussel. Inside you will find masterpieces painstakingly created by local artists displayed in each unique room of the gallery creating a cultural experience like none other in the county. Member’s of Gilpin Arts Association can display and sell their work each year during the Annual Members’ Show that follows the annual juried show. Manager Roussel describes this year’s show as “colorful” and Assistant Manager Aileen says she “just loves this! It’s so much fun and there is so much diversity. It inspires you to do more work (art) and it’s good for your spirit!”
