Candidate Tracy Krug

For Gilpin RE-1 School Board

My name is Tracy Krug, and I’m excited for the opportunity to run for Gilpin County School District RE-1 School Board. I’m a passionate advocate for children of all ages, and I look forward to combining my career in education with a chance to help influence a positive direction for the entire school district. As an active member of the Gilpin Countycommunity for over 17 years and a parent to twin boys who attended Gilpin County School for most of their school career, I have strong roots here, and I look for opportunities to strengthen others and assist our youth.

My intention as a Gilpin County School Board Member is to support the continued implementation of improvements for the growth of all students through sound decisions grounded in data that positively impact the academic and social emotional needs of all students. To be successful in this endeavor, we must build on the foundation of continually growing our academic excellence, caring culture, and safe environment. I bring a strong educational perspective to the conversation; I see the big picture and can identify areas of strength along with areas that need to be strengthened. I am committed to having the challenging conversations as needed and I am also “comfortable in the uncomfortable” to always focus on what is best for the students. I am committed to collaborate with fellow board members to make informed decisions based on all the information provided and through my own research.
