Governor Polis makes final hours earlier statewide
The last call for alcohol just got a bit earlier in Colorado, as announced by Governor Polis on Tuesday, July 21. In an afternoon press conference, Polis stated that bars and restaurants will no longer be able to serve alcohol after 10 pm for the next 30 days. Concern about the later serving hours was based on how a “state of inebriation” can impact efforts to stay socially distanced.
Polis also said that he typically opposes “last call” laws, though not during a pandemic. Typically, Colorado bars and restaurants can have their “last call for alcohol” at 2 am.
