Main Street Central City (MSCC) hosted their first Holiday Lights Contest this December to make Central City a destination and place visitors come to enjoy the bright holiday lights and decorations as they enjoy Central City’s restaurants, shops, B&B’s and hotels, and casinos. The commission had eight amazing contestants and voted on the top three at their meeting on December 19th, 2018. The lights and decorations were judged based on unique design and creative use of lights and decorations; storyline or theme; display and placement of decorations, animated objects, etc.; and overall presentation. The winners included 1st place: Richard and Jesse M. at 210 Hooper St., 2nd place: Chuck W. at 210 Lawrence St., and 3rd place: Donald Barvinski at 207 W 1st High St. First place received $500, second place received $300, and third place received $200. MSCC thanks everyone who participated and enjoyed the holiday spirit!
