Immensely popular suspense writer Tami Hoag is back with a new thriller, The Ninth Girl. On a cold New Year’s Eve in Minneapolis a young woman is the victim of a brutal murder, and homicide detectives Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska are on the case. The woman’s identity is unknown, but she is the ninth Jane Doe murder victim of the year, and police suspect that there is one serial killer out there and this is just his latest victim. They have named the killer Doc Holiday, because he always strikes on a holiday. As Kovac and Liska investigate, they find that there might be someone in this young woman’s life who is a more likely monster than Doc Holiday. As another young woman disappears, they begin to ask the question: “Which is the greater evil – the devil you know or the devil you don’t?” Tami Hoag is “one of the most intense suspense writers around.” (The Chicago Tribune)
