The Central City Police Department family and the entire community of Central City lost a respected and popular colleague and friend when Sergeant Albert Taylor Kidd lost his short battle with cancer on March 15, 2013. Sergeant Kidd fought his cancer with the same energy, determination and bravery that he displayed throughout his life and his police career.
Sergeant Kidd served in the United States Air Force from 1970 until 1973 at the Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, achieving the rank of Sergeant before he was honorably discharged. Al continued his association with the United States Air Force Reserve as a Staff Sergeant from 1985 until 1993.
