Call for Nominations for School Direc-

Gilpin County School District RE-1

Gilpin County, Colorado

The Board of Education of Gilpin County

School District RE-1 in the County of

Gilpin, State of Colorado, calls for nomina-

tion of candidates for school directors to be

placed on the ballot for the regular biennial

school election to be held on Tuesday, No-

vember 4, 2025. At this election one direc-

tor will be elected for a term of office of two

years and two directors will be elected for a

term of office of four years. To be qualified,

a candidate must have been a registered

elector of the school district for at least 12

consecutive months before the election. A

person is ineligible to run for school direc-

tor if he or she has been convicted of com-

mitting a sexual offense against a child. A

person who desires to be a candidate for

school director shall file a written notice of

intention to be a candidate and a nomina-

tion petition signed by at least 25 eligible

electors who are registered to vote in the

regular biennial school election. Beginning

on July 30, 2025 nomination petitions may

be obtained from Catrina Amaya, Gilpin

County School, 10595 Highway 119, Black

Hawk, Colorado 80422. Office hours are

Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m.

until 4:00 p.m. August 6, 2025, is the first

day that nomination petitions are to be

circulated. Completed petitions shall be

submitted to Catrina Amaya, Gilpin County

School, 10595 Highway 119, Black Hawk,

Colorado 80422, no later than 4 p.m. on

August 29, 2025.

CITY OF CENTRAL, COLORADO –

Notice is hereby given that the City

Council of the City of Central passed on

first reading and set the Public Hearing

for Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at

3:00 p.m. on: Ordinance No. 25-08: An

ordinance of the City Council of the

City of Central, Colorado, submitting

to the eligible electors of the City at

the Special Municipal Election to be

held on November 4, 2025, proposed

amendments to Section 16-3-303 of

the Land Development Code (the Hos-

pitality, Gaming, Recreation, and En-

tertainment Land Use Table) and fixing

the ballot title therefor. The above-

referenced Public Hearing regarding

Ordinance No. 25-08 (the “Ordinance”)

will be held at City Hall, 141 Nevada

Street, Central City, CO 80427 at the

date and time stated above.

Summary of Ordinance: The purpose

of the Ordinance is to submit a ballot

question to the registered electors of the

City at the November 4, 2025 coordinat-

ed special election, regarding proposed

amendments to Section 16-3-303 of the

City’s Land Development Code (LDC),

the Hospitality, Gaming, Recreation, and

Entertainment Land Use Table.

Specifically, Section 4 of the Ordi-

nance includes proposed updates to

the City’s LDC to permit the operation

of a sexually-oriented business (“SOB”)

use in a limited portion of the Historic

Downtown Gaming (HDG) zone district.

The Ordinance also clarifies that the

amendments to the LDC will be effective

as set forth in Section 6.8(a) of the City’s

Home Rule Charter, which states that if

a majority of the electors voting on a pro-

posed ordinance vote in its favor, it shall

be considered adopted upon certification

of the election results.
