Unseld to show in Mile High Pastel Exhibit

Presented by the Pastel Society of Colorado

PRESS RELEASE – The International Mile High Pastel Exhibition, sponsored by the Pastel Society of Colorado, will be held from September 6 through 28. This special collection of paintings from artists in the United States, Spain, and Canada showcases the very best in pastel medium. Visitors and patrons will have the opportunity to see a variety of florals, landscapes, portraits, still-lifes, and animals. Included in this impressive lineup is Thin Ice, a work by local Gilpin artist, Virginia Unseld, whose painting was selected from 269 entries by nationally known award winning juror, Lorenzo Chavez.
The exhibition opens with an awards ceremony Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts, located at 1803 N. 7th Street in Grand Junction, CO. The juror and many of the exhibiting artists will be present. All works will be available for sale.
Admission is free and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Virginia Unseld will also be one of the participating artists in the 2nd Annual Gilpin Art Studio Tour on September 21 and 22. The public is invited to attend this free event beginning with an artists’ reception September 20 at Gilpin County Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Maps of the tour are available at the library.
