the District 1 BoCC race,
Aiken decided to file to
run. Laubhan said he will
continue to serve as Gilpin
County’s elected coroner, a
position he’s held for over a
decade. Political observers
said Laubhan was consid-
ered the front-runner in
the District 1 race before
his withdrawal due to per-
sonal reasons.
