Brings fresh, local and fun to the Community Center
By Arwen Ek
Last July, the Holistic Homestead opened their bi-weekly produce pick-ups at the Gilpin Professional Building on Hwy 46 to local vendors, artisans and crafts folk. The Farmer’s Market started small, but has been growing steadily. The markets have featured hand-spun and dyed wool by Phylleri Ball of Three Sisters Weaving; Erin O’Brien with fresh baked breads and homemade jam of Mountain Magnolia Farm; Chris Hockley with Gilpin County grown tilapia and fresh eggs; local, raw, and unfiltered honey, and sustainably sourced/ organically produced olive oil and maple syrup from Don Willoughby (“the honey guy”); and Helene Arendt of CSB Metalsmith with her beautiful handmade jewelry.
